At the moment I really want to stay in further education after my BA continuing with a focus on Ancient History. After that? I\u2019m not really sure. I love the idea of working in a museum, especially helping with engagement from schools, so maybe that\u2019s an option.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What has been your favourite contribution to Sixth Sense?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I must say I really enjoyed researching and writing <a href=\"http:\/\/computing.ashville.co.uk\/iaintest1\/culture\/history\/5-ways-pagan-celebrations-became-halloween\/\">5 Ways Pagan Celebrations Became Halloween \u2013 Sixth Sense (ashville.co.uk)<\/a> &#8211; I love Pagan mythology (hence my choice in degree) and learning more about how it impacts our current traditions was really interesting. Plus, as an added bonus I got to sarcastically comment on Christianity&#8217;s habit of absorbing Pagan celebrations. I\u2019ve also really enjoyed Monty\u2019s political headlines &#8211; \u2018Lettuce remember the je ne sais kwar of the last prime ministers tenure\u2019 is after all a cracker. Just hearing about the mysterious adventures of \u2018Florida Man\u2019 aka George Mobbs are always entertaining as are Patric Mulkeen\u2019s \u2018How not to\u2019 series (when he gets around to writing them that is).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of the Sixth Sense editorial team, who is most likely to go into journalism?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I think I can see Laurens as a journalist \u2013 what sort of journalism is harder to say but probably something in the realm of culture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Any final remarks?<br \/>\n<\/strong>I\u2019ve absolutely loved my time as part of the Sixth Sense, both writing for the magazine and as editor (sorry, but I had to get that fact in somewhere). I really enjoy any form of writing, although my English Language NEA is testing that limit, but journalism is definitely a favourite. I really enjoy the Sixth Sense meetings as well, working with such an amazing team of writers is the highlight of my week (even if I have to harass them to attend meetings). To provide financial support for student drinking culture that I presume I will delve into, I\u2019ll be taking a gap year before starting university. I\u2019m hoping to pursue a career in history \u2013 but in what particular form this will manifest, I am still unsure. If I run out of ideas, I\u2019ll just follow my parents and go into teaching \u2013 I hear the pay\u2019s decent enough.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Where do you see yourself in ten years\u2019 time?<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\">57\u00b002&#8217;14.5&#8243;N 5\u00b040&#8217;57.6&#8243;W.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><strong>What has been your favourite contribution to Sixth Sense?<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">My favourite article I contributed to would be the \u20185 Historical Christmas Events\u2019 article (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/computing.ashville.co.uk\/iaintest1\/culture\/5-historical-christmas-events\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">http:\/\/computing.ashville.co.uk\/iaintest1\/culture\/5-historical-christmas-events\/<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">). This was an article I co-wrote alongside Ed Hall in the Lower Sixth \u2013 who I apologise to for greatly trimming down the 1,400 words he originally wrote \u2013 and it was much more concise than many of my earlier articles. I enjoyed writing on different historical events at Christmas, from the coronation of William I to the Fall of the Soviet Union, and I felt proud of my narratives of each subject \u2013 to which I imparted some humour (alongside minor antipathy to the French). The cover image was also fun to make, and I\u2019ve especially enjoyed creating cover images for each of my articles \u2013 my skill with MS Paint has greatly increased with my time on Sixth Sense.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of the Sixth Sense editorial team, who is most likely to go into journalism?<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Patrick Mulkeen \u2013 not that he\u2019s going to be writing for any leading paper (bugger barely writes at all), but that he\u2019s going to buy off all the leading papers upon his ascension as Conservative Prime Minister.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Any final remarks?<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For me, the Sixth Sense club has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of my time in Sixth Form. I\u2019ve been able to write roughly 20 articles over the last two years on a plethora of subjects, and I thoroughly enjoyed writing each one. The weekly meetings have also proven to be enjoyable \u2013 being able to discuss new ideas for projects \u2013 and the thanks of all the editorial team goes to Mr Watson for regularly taking time out of his busy schedule to run them. Our year group (The \u2018Class of \u201824\u2019) were the first year to work on the relaunched magazine, and in our time, we\u2019ve collectively contributed to a total of 60 articles. I recognise that the current number of contributors in the Lower Sixth is quite low. I would absolutely encourage any of the current Lower Sixth (alongside the current Year 11s) to join the team and write an article about a topic that interests them. It\u2019s a really productive and rewarding usage of your time \u2013 and if you really want to be incentivised, you can put it on your personal statement. For this, Thomas or Patrick, who are both dangerously self-opinionated. In our age of wet wipe journalism, they\u2019re not made for that. These Quotes are a code I&#8217;ve tried to adhere to during my time at Ashville along with the ideology of another one of my heroes, David Beckham, who said that the key to his success was never giving up.\u00a0 Sixth Sense has given me a platform to spread my creative wings and to really get back into writing properly, which inspired me to start writing books again. I&#8217;ve loved working on articles and projects, and it brought some joy to study during Sixth Form. Thank you, Mr Watson, for giving a platform for Sixth formers to be creative and write and post their views. I&#8217;ve loved every minute of this club even making the articles I never finished.
